My name is Patrick Ashamalla. I am the Founder and Principal of A Brand New Way, a Washington, DC based firm specializing in online interactive design and development. At A Brand New Way, I have lead the strategy and production on digital projects for such clients as Roy Rogers Restaurants, Ericsson, AOL, and Honeywell.
Starting out as an interactive designer that focused primarily in Flash design and development, I have been in the digital creative industry since 1999, and founded A Brand New Way in 2005. When I’m not focusing my time on business or this fast-paced industry, I spend my time with my close friends and my beautiful wife.

There are a few things that I hope to accomplish with this blog. First and foremost, I hope to use this site as my own personal resource. I have traveled a very unique and interesting path over the years, and I would like to be able to chronicle my experiences. I hope to build a repository that I can refer to and learn from that goes beyond the specific moment that I add my thoughts to the space. Hopefully, my entries can become a resource for others, and in turn your experience can shed new perspectives I may not have otherwise considered.
I also plan to share design approaches, code and other experiments of my own here. Again, I hope the things I share here can become a resource for others.

Unended:Blog is currently running on WordPress. Over the years I have played around with different blogging software, and like many people blogging today, found WordPress to be the best choice for my needs. As a professional designer and developer I was very pleased to see how customizable WordPress was, and how solid the framework continues to be.
I have used many different hosting companies over the years, but this site is currently hosted with SliceHost. I made the move here a few months ago and so far I’ve experienced nothing but great support, service, up-time, and infrastructure.
